News13.04.2009 The movie based on a novel by Oleg Sinitsin, who is represented by Cinemotion SA, has taken China’s audience by storm. Oleg Shtrom’s movie Cragsgirl and the Last from the 7th Cradle was a commercial success in China. This adventure film premiered in Chinese movie theatres on March 6th and grossed $ 832 117 on its opening weekend. The second weekend saw the Russian film gross $ 773 960 which is only 7% less. Cragsgirl’s total box office takings in China on March 15th were equal to $ 1 606 332. In the last few years China has seen the release of only three Russian movies with moderate success. Compared to that Cragsgirl’s takings may be considered outstanding. The release of 200 copies of the film was supported by various Chinese media.
