Viktoria (N. Antonova) is a young talented painter, who has friends, a successful career and love, but suddenly loses it all: Her darling flees, leaving her with angry creditors. To pay off the debts Vika must sell her apartment, her car and all the paintings and live in her workshop. Her friends arrange a commission to paint a powerful industry tycoon (A. Porohovshikov), which turns to a prelude to their marriage. Yet the husband dies in their first night together… His last will and testament is shocking: the young spouse is to heir all the property. The elder son demands exhumation which reveals traces of poisoning. Viktoria is the main suspect; the trial is unlikely to favour her. But there is suddenly a witness, whose testimony helps her be acquitted. Vika’s misfortunes, however, don’t’ take an end, she’s haunted by intrigues, jealousy and threats. She cannot understand anything before there is the young and charming police captain (K. Strelnikov).
